February will see some great musician descend on Dubai for the 10th Dubai International Jazz Festival. Held at the so-called Jazz Garden near Al Badia Golf Club at Dubai Festival City, the week-long festival (16th February to 24th) has a great line-up.
Day 1, Thursday 16th February, will welcome Michael Roach, a country blues artist; Acoustic Alchemy, a triple Grammy nominated band, and James Blunt (10.30pm to 12am).
On Friday 17th February there are Jimmy Thomas & Samatha Antoinette; Johnathan Butler, and at 10.30pm, Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Band.
Saturday 18th welcomes the Nicola Conte Jazz Combo; Althea Rene, and the Ruby Turner Band; whilst on Sunday February 19th Gaetano Partiplio; Phillip Denny, and the Deborah Coleman Band will take to the stage.
The festival continues on Monday, 20th February, with the Alice Ricciardi Quartet; Julian Vaughn, and the Shakura S’Aida Band. On Tuesday 21st, the Mezzotono Quintet; Cindy Bradley and the Sharrie Williams Band will be performing.
Wednesday, 22nd February, welcomes Luca Mannutza & Max Ionata; a compilation of artists for All Star Smooth Jazz, and later, All Star Ladies of Blues.
On Thursday, 23rd February, soulful Sandi Thom performs between 7 and 8pm, followed by Spyro Gyra between 8.30 and 10pm, and finishing the evening off is Jason Mraz with Toca Rivera on stage from 10.30pm to 12am.
The festival finishes off on Friday 24th February with Dirty Robbers; Brett Dennen, and last but not least James Morrison.
